INJURY UPDATES

10-day and 15-day IL

C (strained left oblique)
Expected return: TBD
Zavala was placed on the 10-day IL on Aug. 6. White Sox manager Pedro Grifol said that Zavala's injury isn't too serious, but the club placed him on the IL so that it would have a backup catcher available in Carlos Pérez, who was recalled as the corresponding move. (Last updated: Aug. 6)

LHP (left shoulder inflammation)
Expected return: September
On July 21, Crochet was taken off his rehab assignment after feeling soreness in his shoulder. His soreness stemmed from his recovery from pitching, but it was diagnosed as a strain in his shoulder. On July 29, Crochet said he'll be shut down for two or three weeks and go to Arizona to rehab. He'll be re-evaluated at that point.

"I just want to take this comeback slow and don’t want to rush anything. I still plan to pitch at some point at the end of the year," Crochet said. "[I'm] just [resting] for now. Getting treatment, time off [from] throwing and doing some stability work. Trying to slowly restrengthen the area and ease back into throwing."

Crochet was placed on the injured list on June 20 (retroactive to June 17) with left shoulder inflammation. He’d allowed six runs on nine hits with six walks and one hit batter with 14 strikeouts in 8 1/3 innings for Triple-A Charlotte and Double-A Birmingham in his rehab stint. Crochet missed the '22 campaign while recovering from Tommy John surgery. (Last updated: July 29)

Expected return: 2025
Chicago announced Hendriks' surgery prior to a game against the Rangers on Aug. 2. His recovery time is listed at 12-14 months, which could mean the end of his tenure with the club.
